The March for Freedom Foundation is honored to announce its first fundraising initiative, The Education 500, as part of their mission to give children the freedom to dream. The Foundation is sponsoring this worthwhile project with MindOH!, a Houston-based company that provides young people, educators and parents with the necessary tools to help develop strong character traits and healthy self-concepts. MindOH! and The March for Freedom Foundation believe that we all are responsible for teaching academic literacy and moral literacy.

What's Going On With School Violence?

In light of the recent outbreak of violence in our Nation's schools, the March for Freedom Foundation has announced this initiative to get solutions into our schools to stop the violence.

The recent incidents in our nation's schools have highlighted that:

•  Students' frustrations contribute to bullying and school violence in general
•  Bullying is detrimental
•  Kids do not feel "listened to" or validated - at school and at home
•  School violence is becoming not only detrimental but deadly
•  We're a great country and we are capable of coming up with solutions
•  MindOH! has developed interactive computer technology to effectively and without judgment - help schools and parents "listen" and understand what's on kids' minds.
•  MindOH! was developed with the help of psychologists and other experts to create a safe environment for children to tell their story, accept responsibility, provide honest insight to adults, reduce frustration and trips to the principal, raise academic scores and contribute to the health of school and home environments.
•  It is nearly impossible for teachers, principals, school counselors and parents to effectively listen to hundreds of kids. We need tools that work. MindOH! works. Every school that uses MindOH! has been stunned at the information that they get from students. Once they have accurate information on what is at the core of behavioral problems, they are able to turn the corner.

•  The Challenge: Our children are losing hope and dropping out of society. Many times this lack of hope and trust in the adults in their lives results in varying forms of school violence.

The Education 500 - An Initiative for Socially Responsible Individuals, Foundations and Corporations

•  We're looking for socially responsible individuals, foundations and corporations to fund 500 U.S. middle and high schools for $10,000 each for a The MindOH! Discipline and Life Skills Series™ first year license, training, and unlimited customer and technical support.
•  Funds will be donated directly to The March for Freedom Foundation.
•  Each socially responsible individual, foundation or corporation receives a tax-deductible benefit when donating through The March for Freedom Foundation.
•  Education 500 sponsors will be posted on the MindOH!, MindOH! Foundation and The March for Freedom Foundation web sites.
•  Education 500 sponsors will also receive mention in all MindOH! and The March for Freedom Foundation press releases.
•  Appropriate PR opportunities will be coordinated between the sponsoring individual or organization and the sponsored school. Some of these PR initiatives could include press releases, web site mention, banners, and communications to parents.
