How Can You Change A Child's Destiny?
Financial Stewardship
Mission: The
March for Freedom Foundation is a 501(c)(3)
organization dedicated to improving the lives of our
nation's youth through the preservation and commemoration
of the values of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our mission
is to empower our youth with knowledge, self-esteem
and the freedom to dream through the support of programs
that strive to promote diversity and unity in our community
among all ethnic groups, races, nationalities, colors
and creeds.
Vision: We at The
March for Freedom Foundation hold the philosophy
that education and social awareness are the cornerstones
of a successful, productive life, and are key to fostering
a child's freedom to dream for his future. Our commitment
is to ensure that our youth have access to educational
opportunities and programs that teach respect for others
and self, encourage global unity and promote universal
values. We believe that instilling these positive attributes
into the lives of our children is the key to a healthy
and productive life.
Participation:
The March for Freedom Foundation is actively
seeking corporate and individual partners who are committed
to making a difference in the lives of our youth. We
are working with educators, program directors and others
to identify qualified organizations and programs consistent
with our mission and vision and to which we can offer
financial funding and resource support. We hope you
will join us in our efforts to provide a better future
for our youth.
How Can You Change a Child's
Destiny?
The Challenge: Our children
are losing hope and dropping out of society at an alarming
rate
We are losing our children to pervasive hopelessness.
Our children's loss of self respect and respect for others
has led to a culture of young people who are dropping
out - on themselves and society.
Many times, young people think they have little or no
control over their own lives - they feel disconnected.
A 1996 study by Marc Cohen, Vanderbilt
University, found that a career criminal costs society
$1.7 million while saving an at-risk youth gains society
$2.6 million.
How do we, as caring adults, help young people realize
they do have the value, potential and freedom - to dream
big dreams, to feel good about themselves, to treat others
with respect and to act responsibly? How do we help young
people realize they have the power to make a real difference?
The Solution: Invest in measurable and proven solutions
The March for Freedom Foundation
has made a commitment to search out, identify, and provide
financing and oversight for those programs that are providing
measurable, research-based, superior results in areas
of character education and positive mental health. Our
objective is to insure that our nation's youth graduate
on time and become contributing citizens.
Researchers have reported that every
9 seconds in America a student becomes a dropout.
The Benefits: Productive and healthy children fulfilling
their dreams and contributing to society
Through the targeted content of these proven programs-teaching
respect, responsibility, global unity and the freedom
to dream-our young people are given the tools to reach
their full potential for themselves and society.
